DATA CENTERS ON FIRE – Episode 9

Risk, Energy and the Spanish Market

Part 1 of 3

Madrid is becoming one of Southern Europe’s key data centre hubs — but rapid growth comes with real risks.

In this episode, hosted by Miguel Martínez (CCO, VID Firekill), with Carlos Mor (Risk Engineer, FM Global), Chris Ezennaya (Data Centre Consultant & Developer) and Nacho Pindado (Data Centre Business Development Manager, Riello UPS), we explore the current state of the Spanish market: AI-driven densification, real infrastructure and power limits, risk management from an insurer’s perspective, and the lithium vs lead battery debate.

From campuses of hundreds of megawatts transforming the country, to the question of who assumes the risk when technology moves faster than our ability to understand it, this conversation addresses what is changing, and what still needs to.

Because in a market that never slows down, the greatest risk isn’t always the technology,  it’s the pace at which we’re deploying it.

This is the first of three episodes in this chapter, recorded live in Madrid.
